The authors' task is to reconstruct a Riemannian metric on a compact manifold with boundary, from scattering data measured on the boundary. The authors prove that their task can be accomplished if the boundary is strictly convex and the manifold is non-trapping. A manifold is non-trapping if all geodesics from any interior point eventually hit the boundary. The scattering data of an interior point consists of the collection of all directions of exit of all geodesics emanating from that point. The scattering data consists of the disjoint union of all scattering data of all interior points. A scattering isomorphism is a diffeomorphism of boundaries identifying scattering data.
