The authors studies a quasi-static radiative-conductive heat transfer model. The main focus here is on an inverse problem of finding the right-hand side sources in the form of a linear combination of given functionals. At first, the heat transfer model is introduced along with the corresponding inverse problem and then the existence of a discrete approximating solution (by Galerkin method) is proven without any restrictive assumptions on the model parameters. New a priori estimates for the solution are derived with mild assumptions on the data and the uniqueness of the solution is established in the class of bounded temperature fields. Finally, the inverse problem is formulated as a regularized optimization problem with PDE constraints and the authors prove the convergence of a subsequence of the solutions of the regularized problems to the solution of the inverse problem in the vanishing regularization limit.
