Given a cardinal \(\kappa\), a topological space \(X\) is said to be \textit{\(\kappa\)-resolvable} if it can be written as the union of a family of \(\kappa\) dense disjoint subsets. \(2\)-resolvable spaces are said to be resolvable. \(X\) is said to be \textit{maximally resolvable} if it is \(\Delta(X)\)-resolvable, where \(\Delta(X)\) denotes the \textit{dispersion character of \(X\)}, which is the smallest cardinality of a non-empty open subset of \(X\). The \textit{extent} of a topological space \(X\), denoted by \(e(X)\), is the supremum of all cardinalities of closed discrete subsets of \(X\), provided it is an infinite cardinal, or is \(\omega\) otherwise. Let \(\mathcal{C}\) be a topological property, or, equivalently, a class of topological spaces. Given a topological space \(X\), the family of all subspaces of \(X\) having property \(\mathcal{C}\) is denoted by \(\mathcal{C}(X)\). A topological space \(X\) is said to be \textit{\(\mathcal{C}\)-generated} if, for any \(A \subseteq X\), if \(A \cap Y\) is open (resp. closed) in \(Y\) for all \(Y \in \mathcal{C}(X)\) then \(A\) is actually open (resp. closed) in \(X\). For instance, compact-generated spaces coincide with what is known as \(k\)-spaces. \textit{E. G. Pytkeev} has proved in [Tr. Mat. Inst. Steklova 154, 209--213 (1983; Zbl 0529.54005)] that Hausdorff \(k\)-spaces are maximally resolvable. In a previous work [Fundam. Math. 228, No. 1, 27--46 (2015; Zbl 1315.54005)], the authors have proved the following results: \((i)\) every regular space of countable extent and uncountable dispersion character is \(\omega\)-resolvable; and \((ii)\) every Lindelöf regular space \(X\) satisfying \(|X| = \Delta(X) = \omega_1\) is \(\omega_1\)-resolvable. In the paper under review, the authors prove the extensions of the mentioned theorems from countable extent to (countable extent)-generated spaces and from Lindelöf to Lindelöf-generated spaces, respectively.
