A \textit{paratopological group} is a group \(G\) equipped with a topology in which multiplication \(G \times G\to G\), but not necessarily inversion, is continuous. If \(G\) is a paratopological group and the inversion map \(G\to G\) is continuous, then \(G\) is a topological group. This paper outlines a first attempt to extend the above notion of a paratopological group to the point-free setting of locales and to relate it with the important notion of a localic group. Other than some interesting examples and non-examples, no results are reported that might convince the reader of the rightness of the approach. The paper ends with a list of open questions. Reviewer's comments: The paper contains a large number of typos. Better editing and refereeing would have caught them.
