Spherical and moment functions on the affine group of $\mathrm{SU}(n)$ (Q2416448)

Affine groups are known to play an important role in geometry and theoretical physics. In this paper, the authors study moments of probability measures in a group that can be obtained from so-called (generalized) moment functions of a given order. The authors demonstrate characterization theorems for sequences of current functions in different types of groups and hypergroups. They also study spherical functions and moment on related groups, and describe the spherical and moment functions in the related group of the $\mathrm{SU}(n)$ group. In this paper $\mathrm{SU}(n)$ is the unitary group over the field ${\mathcal{B}} C^n$. The authors study the following topics: affine groups; spherical functions on affine groups; $K$-monomials on affine groups; spherical functions on the affine group $\operatorname{Aff}\mathrm{SO}(2n)$; $\mathrm{SU}(n)$-spherical functions; $\mathrm{SU}(n)$-spherical functions on ${\mathcal{B}} C^n$; $\mathrm{SU}(n)$-moment functions. In Section 7, by Theorem 9 the authors describe the exact connection between $\mathrm{SU}(n)$-spherical functions over the field ${\mathcal{B}} C^n$ and $\mathrm{SO}(2n)$-spherical functions on ${\mathcal{B}} R^2n$. In Section 8, they describe $\mathrm{SU}(n)$-moment functions on the affine group $\operatorname{Aff}\mathrm{SU}(n) = \mathrm{SU}(n) \ltimes{\mathcal{B}} C^n$. The method used by the authors is based on the observations made in the previous section: the mapping $k \rightarrow \Phi(k)$ is a topological isomorphism of $\mathrm{SU}(n)$ onto the compact subgroup $S_{\Phi}$ of $\mathrm{SO}(2n)$.
