In this paper the authors investigate boundedness of the commutators $[b, M]$ generated by the fractional type Marcinkiewicz integral operators $M$ with the Lipschitz functions $b \in Lip_{\alpha}(\mu)\ (0< \alpha < 1)$ on non-homogeneous metric measure spaces $(X, d, \mu)$, which satisfy the geometrically doubling condition and the upper doubling condition.\par Under the assumption that the dominating function of the Lipschitz function $b$ satisfies the $\epsilon$-weak reverse doubling condition and the fractional type Marcinkiewicz integral operator $M$ is bounded on $L^2(\mu)$, the authors prove that the commutator $[b, M]$ is bounded from $L^1(\mu)$ into $L^{\frac{1}{1-\alpha}, \infty}(\mu)$, from $L^p(\mu)$ into $L^q(\mu)$ with $\frac{1}{q}=\frac{1}{p}-\alpha$, from $L^p(\mu)$ into $Lip_{\alpha-\frac{1}{p}}(\mu)$ for $\frac{1}{\alpha} < p < \frac{1}{\alpha-\epsilon}$, and from the Hardy spce $H^1(\mu)$ into $L^q(\mu)$ for $\frac{1}{q}=1-\alpha$.\par Moreover, the authors also prove that the commutator is bounded from $L^p(\mu)$ into the space $RBMO(\mu)$ for $p=\frac{1}{\alpha}$.
