The canonical ensemble of open self-avoiding strings (Q2416826)

The author considers models of the ensemble open strings avoiding self-interactions in the \(d\)-dimensional space \(\mathbb{R}^d\), \(2\leq d<4\). The configuration of the string is described by its contour length \(L\) and the spatial distance \(R\) between its ends. An integral equation for a transformed probability density \( W(R,L)\), which is invariant under the continuous group of renormalization transformations, is established. Using the renormalization group method, the asymptotic behavior of this density in the case when \(R\rightarrow \infty\) and \(L\rightarrow \infty\) is investigated.
