The Littlewood-Paley theory: a common thread of many works in nonlinear analysis (Q2417597)

This paper is an English translation of the French article [\textit{H. Bahouri}, Gaz. Math., Soc. Math. Fr. 154, 28--39 (2017; Zbl 1398.42011)]. The author gives, in a way which is as simple as possible, a survey of results on Littlewood-Paley theory, discusses various ramifications of these facts, shows the feasibility and effectiveness of this microlocal analysis tool in wavelet theory, paradifferential calculus, nonlinear approximation theory and in the study of nonlinear partial differential equations.
