Stratified Langlands duality in the \(A_n\) tower (Q2418819)

It is a tantalizing but difficult problem to relate the Langlands program to the $K$-theory of $C^*$-algebras, e.g. to the Baum-Connes conjecture. The authors pursuec this goal in a series of papers, and the paper under review is another contribution in this direction. Specifically, the complex Lie groups $\mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{C})$ and $\mathrm{SU}_n(\mathbb{C})$ are studied. The homology, cohomology and $K$-theory of the corresponding group rings are calculated. In particular, a formula for the periodic cyclic homology of the group ring of an extended affine Weyl group is established.
