Singular Hochschild cohomology and algebraic string operations (Q2418824)

This paper constructs the Tate-Hochschild complex for a differential graded symmetric Frobenius algebra. First, the authors recall some basic notions regarding differential graded algebras. Then, they define the singular Hochschild cohomology and the Tate-Hochschild complex. They also construct a cyclic infinity algebra strcuture which extends the classical Hochschild cup and cap products. They obtain a Batalin-Vilkovisky algebra. Finally, they prove that if two differential graded algebras are quasi-isomorphic, their singular Hochschild cohomologies are isomorphic. This result enables the authors to relate the Tate-Hochschild complex to string topology.
