The authors study the non-autonomous second order semilinear evolution equation of the form \[ y''(t)-A(t)y(t)=f\left(t, y(t), \int_{0}^{t}k(t,s,y(s))ds\right) \] in a real Banach space $E$, with $t\in I:=[0,T]$, and $y(0)=y_{0}$, $y'(0)=y_{1}$. Here, $\left\{A(t): t\geq 0\right\}$ is a family of linear closed operators on $E$, that generate an evolution system of linear bounded operators $\left\{U(t,s): (t,s)\in\Delta\right\}$, where $\Delta:=\left\{(t,s)\in I\times I: s\leq t \right\}$, $f:I\times E\times E\rightarrow E$ is a Carathéodory function and $k:\Delta\times E\rightarrow E$ is a continuous function. The main result of the paper is Theorem 3.2 where the authors under sufficient conditions prove the existence of at least one mild solution of the above problem, by means the Kuratowski measure of noncompactness and the fixed point theory.
