The authors study the Cauchy problem for a scalar conservation law \(u_t+\varphi(u)_x=0\) with single space variable. The initial data is supposed to be a nonnegative measure with singular part being a finite sum of Dirac masses. They introduce the notion of entropy solution of the problem under consideration. Under a new compatibility condition, stated on the support of singular part of a measure-valued solution, they prove existence and uniqueness results.
