The main results proved concern the equivalent quasi-norms in weak Triebel-Lizorkin spaces with variable exponents in summation, integral and smoothness via Peetre's maximal functions, their atomic and molecular decompositions and the boundedness of the transform on them. \par An important tool to prove these is a key inequality; to this, the entire Section 3 is dedicated. \par Likewise for the constant Lebesgue spaces, the boundedness of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator on variable Lebesgue spaces is crucial. \par One of the main purposes of the authors is then to show that, up to equivalence of norms, every pair of admissible functions produces the same space.
