The main result in this paper is the Binomial Theorem for the Grothendieck ring of varieties. It is proved by using the exponential function, which is a generalisation of the motivic zeta function introduced by \textit{M. Kapranov} [``The elliptic curve in the S-duality theory and Eisenstein series for Kac-Moody groups'', \url{arXiv:math/001005}]. As an application, the author deduces an expression for the class of a universal quasi-split torus.
