In this paper, the author introduces buffered Frobenius representations, which generalize the generating series of the Dyson ranks and \(M_2\)-ranks of overpartitions introduced by \textit{J. Lovejoy} in [Ann. Comb. 9, No. 3, 321--334 (2005; Zbl 1114.11081); ibid. 12, No. 1, 101--113 (2008; Zbl 1147.11062)]. The author proves that for \(k\ge 1\), the following \(k\)-fold variants of \[ \frac{(-q;q)_\infty}{(q;q_\infty)} \left(1+2\sum_{n=1}^\infty \frac{(1-z)(1-z^{-1})(-1)^n q^{n^2+mn}}{(1-zq^{mn})(1-z^{-1}q^{mn})} \right) \] are the rank generating functions for the two families of buffered Frobenius representations given by \[ \frac{(-q;q)_\infty}{(q;q_\infty)} \left(1+2\sum_{n=1}^\infty (-1)^n q^{n^2+kmn} \prod_{i=1}^k \frac{(1-x_i)(1-x_{i}^{-1})}{(1-x_iq^{mn})(1-x_{i}^{-1}q^{mn})} \right) \] for \(m\in\{1,2\}\).
