With $\mathbb{H}$ denoting the quaternion skew field $\{a_0+a_1i+a_2j+a_3k,i^2=j^2=k^2=ijk=-1,a_0,a_1,a_2,a_3\in \mathbb{R}\}$, the conjugate transpose of $A\in \mathbb{H}^{m\times n}$ is denoted by $A^*$. A matrix $A\in \mathbb{H}^{n\times n}$ is Hermitian if $A^*=A$. The Moore-Penrose inverse $A^{\dagger}$ of $A$ is defined as the solution $X$ to the system $AXA=A$, $XAX=X$, $(AX)^*=AX$, $(XA)^*=XA$. Matrices satisfying the first of these equations are known as generalized inverses. A matrix $A\in \mathbb{H}^{n\times n}$ is $\eta$-Hermitian if $A=A^{\eta *}=-\eta A^*\eta$ and $\eta$-skew-Hermitian if $A=-A^{\eta *}=\eta A^*\eta$, where $\eta \in \{ i,j,k\}$. The author obtains explicit determinantal representation formulas (analogs of Cramer's rule) of $\eta$-Hermitian and $\eta$-skew-Hermitian solutions to the quaternion matrix equations $AX=B$ and $AXA^{\eta *}=B$. To this end he uses determinantal representations of the Moore-Penrose inverse previously obtained by him within the framework of the theory of quaternion column-row determinants. He also derives Cramer's rule for general and $\eta$-(skew-)Hermitian solutions to the Sylvester-type matrix equation $AXA^{\eta *}+BYB^{\eta *}=C$.
