This paper studies the existence of isometric immersions of locally conformally Kähler manifolds into a classical Hopf manifold, defined as quotient of \(\mathbb{C}^n\setminus\{O\}\) under the action of \(\mathbb{Z}\) generated by multiplication by a non-zero complex number, and endowed with the Hermitian \((1,1)\)-form \(\omega_H=\|z\|^{-2}\omega_0\) and with the Lee form \(\theta_H=d\log\|z\|^{-2}\), where \(\omega_0\) is the standard Kähler form of \(\mathbb{C}^n\). The authors are able to give necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of local isometric immersions of a locally conformal Kähler manifold \((M,\omega)\) into a classical Hopf manifold expressed in terms of the Calabi diastasis function of a minimal Kähler covering of \(M\). As a consequence they are able to prove that a locally conformal Kähler manifold \((M,\omega)\) has a global isometric immersion in a classical Hopf manifold if it has a proper potential and admits a Kähler covering \((\tilde M, \tilde\omega)\) induced by an immersion into \(\ell^2(\mathbb{C})\) and such that the continuous extension of the diastasis function to the one-point completion of \((\tilde M, \tilde\omega)\) is an automorphic potential. It should be remarked that these results in complex dimension two require the spherical shell conjecture to hold. Under this assumption, the authors study in details such isometric immersions for the known Hermitian compact complex surfaces.
