\textit{C. Bandt} et al. [Nonlinearity 15, No. 5, 1595--1602 (2002; Zbl 1026.37027)] proved that the Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy and the permutation entropy are equal for one-dimensional piecewise monotone interval maps. In this paper the authors extend this result to a class of aperiodic countably piecewise monotone maps which are not necessarily continuous.
