Directed spaces [\textit{M. Grandis}, Cah. Topol. Géom. Différ. Catég. 44, No. 4, 281--316 (2003; Zbl 1059.55009)] can be used for modelling the behavior of concurrent programs. The paper proposes a new definition of the component category of a directed space (replacing fundamental categories from un-directed homotopy). In this way, he obtains new invariants for directed spaces.
