Consider the Maxwell-Bloch system \[ \begin{aligned}\frac{du}{dt} & =-au+v,\\ \frac{dv}{dt} & =-bv+uw,\\ \frac{dw}{dt} & =-c(w-\delta)-4uv\end{aligned}\tag{\(*\)} \] modeling laser systems, \(a,b,c,\delta\) are parameters. In case \(a=0\), \(\delta=0\), system (\(*\)) has the invariant line \(L:=\{(u,v,w):v=0,w=0\}\) consisting of equilibria. Perturbing the condition \(a=\delta=0\), the invariant line \(L\) disappears. The authors prove that there are two equilibria on \(L\) which produce an isolated periodic solution of (\(*\)). The proof is based on averaging theory.
