The connected tree with \(n\) edges coming out of each vertex admits various compactifications invariant under its automorphism group. If we fix a point of the tree, and a sequence of positive numbers, we can travel out from that point, and force each edge \(N\) steps away from our point to have a length \(h_n>0\). This assigns a length to every edge, and hence a metric to the tree. If the sequence \(h_n\) is summable, then there is a natural Lipschitz structure on the geodesic compactification of the tree with that metric, called a Floyd compactification. The author proves that all automorphism invariant Lipschitz structures on the geodesic compactification of the tree are Lipschitz equivalent to Floyd compactifications.
