The concepts relating localization in a space-time are formalized in the framework of the algebra proposed earlier for presenting asymptotic field structure in electrodynamics. Specifically, `spatially local' fields are defined as those localized in regions resulting as unions of two intersecting solid future- and past-lightcones. Spatially localized (in this sense) fields include infrared characteristics normally placed at space-like infinity. Being applied to the description of the radiation of an external classical current, the model is free of `infrared catastrophe'.
