We first recall that a description of the regular holonomic \({\mathcal D}{\mathcal C}\)-modules by using pairs of finite-dimensional \(\mathbb{C}\)-vector spaces related to certain linear maps was given by \textit{L. Boutet de Monvel} [Mathématique et physique, Sémin. Ec. Norm. Supér., Paris 1979--1982, Prog. Math. 37, 313--321 (1983; Zbl 0578.35080)]. On the other hand, the author of the paper under review constructed an explicit presentation of holonomic \({\mathcal D}{\mathcal C}\)-modules with regular singularities along the quadratic cone in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) [Publ. Res. Inst. Math. Sci. 35, No.~2, 223--247 (1999; Zbl 0958.35019)]. It is to remark too, that a number of papers appeared on the classification of regular holonomic \({\mathcal D}\)-modules and perverse sheaves. This paper can be understood as a development of the above quoted results by means of the \({\mathcal D}\)-module theoretical methods and perverse sheaves. More concretely, if \(V\) denotes the complex vector space of \(n\times n\) matrices, the author gives an algebraic description of the regular holonomic \({\mathcal D}{\mathcal V}\)-modules with characteristic variety \(L\) which coincides with the union of the conformal bundles to the orbits of the action of the general linear group on square matrices. An interesting treatment of the obtained result in terms of equivalence of appropriate categories is given, too.
