In this paper the FEM is used for finding approximate solution of the heat transfer equation, both in two- and three-dimensional models. First, the numerical thermal analysis technique has been carried out to study four different kinds of walls in two dimensions, made up of five compositions of light concrete hollow bricks, according to the experimental fitted results. Now, three-dimensional FE analysis for the best candidate, varying the mortar and brick conductivities is presented. Finally, the authors have compared the thermal performance of the different types of bricks, according to the CTE Spanish rule requirements.
