The article considers a semi-anonymous non-atomic game, i.e., a non-atomic game in which the payoff of a player depends on the types and actions of other players only through their type-action distribution. Under suitable technical hypotheses, it is shown that for a mixed equilibrium of this game, there exists a randomly generated sequence of finite games for which it is an asymptotic equilibrium in the sense that it is the limit of a sequence of approximate pure equilibria of these finite games. A converse statement shows that the latter is not possible for a non-equilibrium. The results are specialized further to anonymous games wherein the payoffs depend only on the distribution of other players' actions, and associated pure equilibria.
