The author establishes the following proposition concerning the a.e.~convergence of sequences of Fejér means of the Walsh-Fourier series of bivariate integrable functions. Theorem. Let \(a=(a_1,a_2): \mathbb N\to\mathbb N\times\mathbb N\) be a sequence subject to the conditions: \(a_j(+\infty)=+\infty\) for \(j=1,2\), and there is a positive \(\delta\) such that \(a_j(n+1)\geq\delta\sup_{k\leq n} a_j (n)\) for all \(n\). Then, for each \(f\in L^1([0,1]\times [0,1])\), \(\lim_n\sigma_{a(n)} f=f\) a.e. The author observes that an immediate corollary of this result is the core-restricted a.e.~convergence of the two-dimensional Walsh-Fejér means of \(L^1\) functions, established earlier by the author [Ann. Univ. Sci. Budap. Rolando Eőtvős, Sect. Comput. 16, 173--184 (1996; Zbl 0891.42014)] and by \textit{F.~Weisz} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 348, 2169--2181 (1996; Zbl 0857.42016)].
