A note on Browder spectrum (Q2428785)

For a bounded linear operator \(T\) on a Banach space \(X\), the Browder spectrum is obtained by deleting from the spectrum \(\sigma(T)\) only those Fredholm points which are isolated in \(\sigma(T)\). The paper gives a new proof of Lay's characterization of the Browder spectrum as the intersection of the spectra \(\sigma(T+K)\) for only those compact operators \(K\) which commute with \(T\).
