Complements and higher resonance varieties of hyperplane arrangements (Q2428820)

The author obtains new interesting results on the topology of complex hyperplane arrangement complements. He obtains positivity conditions expressed in terms of Schur polynomials for the sequence of Betti numbers of such a complement. Bounds on the codimensions of the corresponding resonance varieties in terms of Crapo invariants of truncations of associated matroids are also obtained as well as a sufficient condition for the connectivity of the projective resonance varieties.
