The Farrell-Jones isomorphism conjecture (and its fibered alternative) is the main tool for attacking rigidity and classification problems in geometric topology. More specifically, it provides a unified, inductive way for calculating the relevant obstructions. In the paper under review, the fibered isomorphism conjecture is proved for certain classes of groups for the pseudoisotopy spectrum, and the \(L^{<-\infty >}\)-spectum. More precisely, the classes of groups examined are fundamental groups of graphs of groups with finite edge groups. It is shown that if the fibered isomorphism conjecture is true for the wreath products of vertex groups with finite groups, then it is true for the wreath product of the fundamental group of the graph of groups with a finite group. As particular cases, the fibered isomorphism conjecture is proved for: wreath products of Abelian groups, free metabelian groups (the quotient of free groups by the second derived subgroup), semidirect products of Abelian groups with \(\mathbb{Z}\). The methods used are based on the hereditary properties of the fibered isomorphism conjecture (if it holds for a group, it holds for its subgroups) and that is preserved under direct limits. So inductive methods are used to deduce the result from the vertex groups to the fundamental group of the graph. Similar methods have been already used by \textit{S. K. Roushon} [``The fibered isomorphism conjecture in L-theory'', Topology Appl. 157, No. 2, 508--515 (2010; Zbl 1197.19004)] Furthermore, the author presents the consequences of his calculations which include the vanishing of the lower \(K\)-theory of torsion free subgroups of the above groups and the Borel conjecture for the subgroups that are fundamental groups of closed manifolds.
