The author considers the nonlinear \((N-1,1)\) fractional boundary value problem \[ \begin{aligned} -\Delta_{\nu-N}^{\nu}\,y(t)&=f(t,y(t+\nu-1)),\\ \Delta^{i} y(\nu-N)&=0,\\ \Delta_{\nu-N}^{\mu}\,y(b+M+\nu-\mu)&=0, \end{aligned} \] where \(t\in\left\{0,\dots,b+M\right\}\) and \(i\in\left\{0,\dots,N- 2\right\}\). The paper consists of two main parts. In Section 2, the Green's function corresponding to the boundary value problem with \(f(t,y(t+\nu-1))=h(t)\) is established. Some properties of this Green's function in this section are also proven. The second main part goes back to the general form of the right hand side, i.e., \(f(t,y(t+\nu-1))\). Sufficient conditions for a solvability of this equation are given. More specifically, an existence of at least one positive solution is proven by using the Krasnosel'skii Theorem and the existence of a unique solution is proven by using the Banach Contraction Mapping Theorem. Finally, applications of these two last results are illustrated by examples.
