The author extends a known result of \textit{M. E. B. Bekka} [Monatsh. Math. 109, No.~3, 195--203 (1990; Zbl 0713.43003)] to Banach algebras with bounded approximate identities. He investigates the case when a certain weak\(^*\)-closed subspace of \(B(A, A^*)\), where \(A\) is a left Banach \(G\)-module and \(G\) is a locally compact group, is the range of a bounded projection on \(B(A, A^*)\). He also studies characterizations of amenability in terms of existence properties of left invariant means and in terms of the projections on semigroup algebras.
