    The authors consider the impulsive boundary value problem for a system of two differential equations of the second order with \(p\)-Laplacian \[ \begin{aligned} &-\!(\Phi_p(u'))' = f_0(u,v),\quad t \in (0,1), \;t\neq t_k,\\ &-\!(\Phi_q(v'))' = f_1(u,v),\quad t \in (0,1), \;t\neq t_k,\\ &a_0u(0) - b_0u'(0) = 0, \quad a_1u(1) + b_1u'(1) = 0,\\ &c_0v(0) - d_0v'(0) = 0, \quad c_1v(1) + d_1v'(1) = 0,\\ &\triangle \Phi_p(u'(t_k)) = I_k(u(t_k),v(t_k)),\quad k = 1,\dots,m,\\ &\triangle \Phi_q(v'(t_k)) = L_k(u(t_k),v(t_k)), \quad k = 1,\dots,m, \end{aligned} \] where \(0 < t_1 < \dots < t_m < 1\), \(p,q > 1\), \(1/p + 1/q = 1\), \(\Phi_p(s) = |s|^{p-2}s\), \(\Phi_q(s) = |s|^{q-2}s\), \(f_0,f_1, I_k, L_k\) are continuous on \({\mathbb R}^2\). Existence results are obtained for this type of problem. As a first result, sufficient conditions are derived ensuring the existence of a decreasing sequence of nontrivial nonnegative solutions \(\{(u_n,v_n)\}\) satisfying \[ \lim_{n\to\infty} \max_{t\in[0,1]} u_n(t) = \lim_{n\to\infty} \max_{t\in[0,1]} v_n(t) = 0. \] As a second result, sufficient conditions are found ensuring the existence of an increasing sequence of nontrivial nonnegative solutions \(\{(u_n,v_n)\}\) satisfying \[ \lim_{n\to\infty} \max_{t\in[0,1]} u_n(t) = \lim_{n\to\infty} \max_{t\in[0,1]} v_n(t)= \infty. \] The arguments are based on the lower and upper solutions method and a variational approach.
