Let \(k\) be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, \(m>1\), \(n>1\), \(w_i(x)\in k[[x]]=k[[x_1,\dots,x_n]]\), \(i=1,\dots,m\) and let \(P(x,z)=z^m+w_1(x)z^{m-1}+\cdots+w_{m-1}(x)z+w_m(x)=0\), \(w_m\neq 0\), be an equation of integral dependence. The main result of the paper is that iterating the classical Newton procedure for one variable, one obtains representations of all the roots of the equation considered by generalized Puiseux power series in \(x^{\frac{1}{d}}\), \(d\in\mathbb{Z}_{>0}\), whose supports are contained in an \(n\)-dimensional lex-positive strictly convex polyhedral cone. While the existence of such representations is well-known, the fact that their supports are contained in a special cone as above is the striking new fact proved by the authors.
