Let \(E\) be a smooth Banach space and \(C\) a nonempty subset of \(E\). The authors introduce the notion of strongly relatively nonexpansive sequence of mappings \(T_n:C\to E\) and prove several results, including a convergence theorem. These results are then applied to the problem of approximating a common fixed point of a countable family of relatively nonexpansive mappings. Several weak and strong convergence theorems are proven.
