Transvection parameter sets in linear groups over associative division rings and special Jordan algebras defined by these rings. (Q2431753)

Let \(D\) be a division ring which is algebraic over a central subfield \(k=2k\). A correspondence between irreducible subgroups \(G\subset\text{GL}_n(D)\) generated by transvections and Jordan \(k\)-subalgebras of \(D\) is constructed. Here \(n\geq 2\) and the Jordan algebra structure on \(D\) is defined by \((a,b)\mapsto(ab+ba)/2\).
