If \(X\) is a topological space, the bounded part of the cohomology of \(X\) is the subspace of \(H^{\ast }(X)\) represented by singular cochains \(c\) for which the values on the singular simplices are bounded. Let \(\widetilde{\beta}^{i}\) be the rank of the bounded part of \(H^{i}(X).\) The main result of this paper is that there is a constant \(C(n,D)\) so that for a closed Riemannian manifold \(M\) of dimension \(n\) with Ricci curvature \(\geq -(n-1)\) and diameter \(\leq D\) the sum of the Betti numbers \(\widetilde{\beta} ^{i}\) is bounded by \(C(n,D).\)
