Thanks to \textit{S.\,Shelah} [Isr.\ J.\ Math.\ 51, 273--297 (1985; Zbl 0589.03012)] and \textit{K.\,Kunen} [unpublished notes] we know that there are (under some axioms of set theory) nonseparable Banach spaces without uncountable biorthogonal systems. In the paper under review, the author proves that, under some other axioms, including assumptions that the Baire category number \(\mathbf{m}\mathbf{m}>\omega_1\), uncountable biorthogonal systems exist in all nonseparable Banach spaces. As a consequence, under \(\mathbf{m}\mathbf{m}>\omega_1\) the answer to a well-known problem of Rolewicz, namely the question if every nonseparable Banach space \(X\) contains a closed convex subset composed entirely of support points, finds a positive solution.
