Regularity and the Brøndsted-Rockafellar properties of maximal monotone operators (Q2432522)

The main results of the paper are the two following theorems. Theorem 5. If \(T:X\to 2^{X^*}\) is monotone and such that \(T+\partial I_B\) is of (wBR)-type [cf. \textit{S. Simons}, Set-Valued Anal. 7, No. 3, 255--294 (1999; Zbl 0992.47024)] for each closed ball \(B\) whose interior has nonempty intersection with \(\text{dom}\,(T)\), then \(T\) is regular [cf. \textit{A.\,Verona} and \textit{M. E.Verona}, J. Convex Anal. 7, No. 1, 115--128 (2000; Zbl 0962.47023)]. Theorem 11. If \(T:X\to 2^{X^*}\) is regular and such that \(T+\partial I_B\) is coregular (resp., \((T+\partial I_B)^{-1}\) is regular) for each closed ball \(B\) whose interior has nonempty intersection with \(\text{dom}\,(T)\), then \(T\) is of (wBR)-type (resp., of (wBR)-type).
