The quantum link invariant \(P_N\) is a specialization of the HOMFLYpt polynomial. This invariant can be expressed in terms of a certain representation of the quantum group \(sl(N)\), and has been reformulated in terms of Gromov-Witten invariants and BPS degeneracies. In this paper, the authors conjecture a relationship between the categorified version of \(P_N\), i.e., Khovanov's \(\text{sl}(N)\) knot homology invariant, and the BPS spectrum of states in open topological strings. Some explicit computations are described (the unknot, the trefoil, and \(5_1\)) whose results are shown to be consistent with the conjecture.
