This paper deals with the continuous Galerkin finite element method for a class of linear delay differential equation \[ u'(t)= a(t) u(t)+ \sum^m_{i= 1}b_i(t) u(t-\tau_i),\quad t\geq 0,\quad u(t)=\varphi(t)\quad t\leq 0, \] with a unique complex-valued solution \(u\in H^1([0,\infty))\). For an element orthogonal analysis, the Legendre polynomials with the set of Lobatto points are used. One superconvergence estimate is presented.
