Let \((W,S)\) be a Coxeter system, and denote by \(\leq\) the Bruhat ordering on \(W\). Lusztig and independently \textit{M. J. Dyer} [Hecke algebras and reflections in Coxeter groups, PhD thesis, Univ. Sydney (1987)] raised the conjecture, whether the Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomial \(P_{u,v}\) defined on a Bruhat interval \([u,v]\) only depends on the isomorphism class of \([u,v]\). In this paper, the author shows that the conjecture of Lusztig and Dyer holds for Bruhat intervals \([e,u]\) starting from the identity \(e\) in Coxeter groups. To achieve this the author uses the purely poset-theoretic notion of special matching.
