Distortion-suppression optimization for a class of nonlinear optical systems with feedback (Q2434027)

An initial boundary value problem is considered for a quasilinear diffusion problem that describes the dynamics of optical systems subject to controlled feedback wave intensity modulation in the presence of incoming wave phase perturbations. Existence and uniqueness theorems are proved for the generalised solutions of the direct and conjugate problems, together with solvability theorems. A formula for the functional gradient is derived, and numerical methods are used to demonstrate the efficiency of the gradient projection method.
