The authors consider the following system of reaction-diffusion equations with Neumann boundary conditions \[ \left.\begin{aligned} u_t=d\triangle u-g(u+v)+kv\\ v_t=\triangle v+g(u+v)-kv \end{aligned}\right\} x\in \Omega , \] where \(d\), \(k\) are positive constants and \(\Omega\) is a bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) with smooth boundary \(\partial \Omega\) under the following assumptions \[ \frac{g(s)}{s}\leq K \; \; (s>0),\quad \underset{s\to +0}{\lim}\frac{g(s)}{s}=\beta>0,\; \;g\in C^1([0,\infty);\mathbb{R}). \] The aim of the article is to show that the system allows a Lyapounov-function with the aid of which it can be proved that the \(\omega\)-limit set of any bounded orbit of the solution consists of equilibrium solutions. The investigation of the linearized eigenvalue problem for any equilibrium solution shows that the profile of a stable equilibrium solution in one-dimensional space must be monotone or unimodal.
