The authors study the stability of syzygy bundles on algebraic surfaces. Given \(L\) a very ample line bundle and a smooth projective surface \(X\) over an algebraically closed field \(k\), the syzygy bundle \(M_L\) is the kernel of the evaluation map \(H^0(L)\otimes_k\mathcal{O}_X\rightarrow L\). The main result of the paper is that for \(d\gg 0\), given an ample divisor \(A\) and an arbitrary divisor \(P\) on \(X\), then the syzygy bundle \(M_d\) associated to \(L_d:=dA+P\) is \(A-\)stable. If moreover \(X\) is a regular surface, using the same type of argument as in [\textit{C. Camere}, Math. Z. 271, No. 1--2, 499--507 (2012; Zbl 1254.14051)], it follows that \(M_d\) is an isolated point of the moduli space of stable vector bundles on \(X\), since it is also rigid.
