The authors study linear stability criteria of both planar and non-planar contact discontinuities in three-dimensional compressible isentropic supersonic steady flows described by the Euler system. Necessary and sufficient conditions of linear weak stability are proven. The Kreiss-Lopatinskii conditions are shown to fail, they hold in the weak form. The energy estimates of solutions to the linearized problem at a planar contact discontinuity are obtained.
