The aim of the present paper is to give estimates of the rate of convergence in the Birkhoff ergodic theorem through some constants which can be calculated from the behavior of the spectral measure \(\sigma_g\) in a neighborhood of zero or from the rate of decrease as \(n\to\infty\) of the correlation coefficients of the function \(g\). Here \(g=f-f^*\), where \(f^*\) is the limit of the ergodic means stated in the von Neumann and Birkhoff ergodic theorem. Furthermore, some results concerning the asymptotic solutions of the Cauchy problem for a singularly perturbed system of differential equations with an analytic nonlinearity are investigated.
