Let \(\nu\) be a multiplicative arithmetic function with support of positive asymptotic density. The support of an arithmetic function \(g\) is the set of the positive integers \(n\) for which \(g(n)\) is nonzero. The author proves that for any arithmetic function \(f\) \((\not\equiv 0)\) with \(\sum_{f(n)\neq 0}1/n<\infty\), the support of the arithmetic function defined by Dirichlet convolution \(f\ast\nu\) possesses a positive asymptotic density. The author gives also a quantitative version of this claim when \(f\) is a multiplicative function. These results generalize some previous results of \textit{P. Pollack} and \textit{C. Sanna} [Bull. Aust. Math. Soc. 88, No. 3, 460--472 (2013; Zbl 1321.11008)], concerning the cases \(\nu=\mu\) (the Möbius function) and \(\nu\) is identically one.
