This paper is dedicated to the study of Ricci flow, which is a powerful tool in geometry, topology and analysis. The authors provide some important algorithms for the study of the intrinsic geometric curvature flow method, especially the Ricci flow on surfaces. They use the variational principle developed by \textit{I. Izmestiev} in [Discrete Comput. Geom. 40, No. 4, 561--585 (2008; Zbl 1162.52004)] and by this approach, they present the schematic proof of the Poincaré conjecture using the Ricci flow for the 2-dimensional analogue. The paper is well written and the topics are presented with clarity. In conclusion, the paper is accessible to a wide audience, especially for those interested in Riemannian geometry.
