The Toda lattice, old and new (Q2438162)

After Toda showing that the Toda lattice was associated with a discretization of the Schrödinger spectral problem, various discrete equations have been found. It has been known that discrete equations can be used to build mathematical models for many important nonlinear phenomena that occur in nature, and have many applications in various fields of physical sciences. In the present paper, the author studies some basic properties of the Toda lattice equation and discusses the solutions and the completely integrable Hamiltonian associated to the Toda system.
