Hausdorff dimension of quadratic rational Julia sets (Q2440481)

The authors define the Haudorff dimension of a set in the complex plane and a shallow set. They also define the Julia set of a rational map of degree greater or equal to two. The authors deal with the quadratic rational map \(f\) with a Siegel disk and a parabolic fixed point of multiplier one. The main result assures that if the rotation number of the Siegel disk is an irrational of bounded type, then the Julia set is shallow which implies that the Haudorff dimension of the Julia set of \(f\) is strictly less than two.
